AcornBox Privacy Policy

Overview
AcornBox helps you save, recognize, organize, and revisit screenshots you choose to add.
Images, text recognition (OCR), and search run entirely on your device and do not use the network. Originals, thumbnails, recognized text, and search content never leave the device. We do not upload or store them.

Images, text recognition, and search
Saving screenshots, reading text in images, building the search index, and running searches all happen on your device. They do not connect to the network or pass through our servers.
Images and the information recognized from them stay on the device the whole time. We cannot access, view, or back up this content.
Saving, text recognition, search, folders, and reminders keep working without a network connection.
Data that stays on your device
The following is processed and stored on your device. It is not uploaded and does not need a network connection:
- Original screenshots and thumbnails you save
- On-device text recognition (OCR) results, the search index built from them, and your searches
- Folders, tags, reminder times, and other organization metadata
What we do not actively collect
We do not actively collect:
- Contacts, precise location, or health data
- Advertising identifiers used for cross-app tracking
- Analytics SDK profiles not disclosed in this policy
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide save, text recognition, search, folders, reminders, and export on the device, without a network connection or image upload
- Respond to support requests
Sharing
We do not sell personal information, and we do not send screenshots, recognition results, or search content to any server.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
We may disclose information when required by law.
Sharing via the system share sheet or export to Photos/Files is your choice; recipients have their own policies.
Permissions
Photos: import images you select; we write to Photos only when you export back.
Notifications: local reminders for screenshots you schedule.
Saving images, text recognition, search, folders, and reminders do not use the network. In-app purchase and restore are handled by the system and Apple.
If you deny Photos or Notifications, the local library, text recognition, search, and folders still work; related entry points will be unavailable.
Retention and deletion
Screenshots, recognition results, search content, and organization details stay only on the device, under the app and system storage policies. Deleted items cannot be recovered in the current version. Uninstalling the app removes these local copies.
Children
AcornBox is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We will post updates on this page with a new effective date. Continued use means you acknowledge the updated policy.
